Above is a Thematic Map of the main island of Hawaii. This map shows the Hawaiian land reserves and their generalized functions. Because of the small amount of land on the Hawaiian Islands, it is very important that they reserve and protect large portions of their land for wildlife, and nature conservation. Being born on the Island of Oahu, I have been lucky enough to witness this breathtaking scenery that will be preserved for years to come thanks to these natural reserves.
